Healing the world one story at a time

Early in my career, I resigned from a stable Fortune 500 company to join a small, independent trade publisher so that I could work in books and begin chasing my dream of someday becoming an author.

“No one ever leaves,” my manager said at the time, “Are you sure?”

I knew it was a risk (and a devastating pay cut). But I also knew that the road to becoming an author would be decades long, and I had a lot of learning to do.

My career in publishing was indeed twisty; I wasn’t awesome at every role I held, while I won “of the Year” awards in others. But, I learned, and then I learned some more.

I had no idea that my personal healing journey would play such a huge role in the books I’d write for the world one day — but here we are, 20 years later, telling a story about a tree, a leaf, and the wind.

When Leaf Let Go, a story about courage, trust, and the magic of new beginnings, will be available in Fall 2024. Leaf’s Big Bloom is slated for Spring 2026.
